Mark was tired of chasing contractors for upkeep of their home. Jackie was tired of climbing the stairs to carry laundry to the washer. They agreed that keeping the huge home where they raised their family was quickly turning into a nightmare. So Mark and Jackie completely changed their lifestyle. They found Galloway Ridge, a uniquely situated, vibrant Life Care retirement community located at Fearrington Village near Chapel Hill, North Carolina. They chose a spacious, well-designed apartment as their new home.
With no home maintenance, Mark now has time to watch games with the guys at Beltie’s pub – a hub of activity at Galloway Ridge. Jackie loves the art studio, craft classes and movies at the 49-seat cinema. Every weekday morning, they exercise together at the 20,000 square foot wellness facility, the Duke Center for Living. They often join friends for dinner at one of three outstanding dining venues.
Their grandchildren enjoy taking walks with their grandparents on the lovely walking trails at Fearrington Village. Retirement now feels exactly like Mark and Jackie dreamed it would. There is a lot more balance these days in their roles as grandparents and as two people who worked hard all of their lives so that their retirement lifestyle could be filled with adventure and fun.
