Throughout this pandemic, our number one priority has been to protect the health and well-being of our residents, employees, family members and the broader community, and to reduce the risk for those most vulnerable to COVID-19. We require all residents and staff to be vaccinated against COVID-19. You can review our current COVID-19 Compendium HERE

Yes. Galloway Ridge offers two types of waiting lists. The first waiting list allows for prospective residents to secure a waiting list date that simply gets you in line for a future residence. There is a non-refundable $250 fee to join this initial waiting list. We do not make offers of residences to anyone on this list.

The second waiting list, the Residence Preference Agreement list, is similar to a “Ready” list. Prospective residents should join this list once their $250 waiting list date puts them in a position to receive offers of available residences of their preference. This list is carefully monitored as we only accept prospective residents with waitlist dates that would put them within three years or less of receiving an offer of a residence.

Depending on the size of the residence, waiting list times range from 2 to 15 years. Smaller residences have shorter wait times whereas villas have a 10 to 15 year wait time.

Residents in The Arbor receive personalized, compassionate assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care centered on their specific needs and desires that is designed to enhance their quality of life. Schedules and services are tailored to match each individual whenever possible. A team of dedicated nursing and therapy professionals provide services to ensure each resident is given an opportunity to function at his or her highest level. A certified recreational therapist guides residents in leisure activities seven days a week to promote a sense of well-being. Every Arbor resident enjoys a private room with a private bathroom. Sixteen rooms of our skilled nursing neighborhood are Medicare-certified, enabling residents to use their Medicare benefit.

Each residence includes a fully equipped kitchen with appliances including oven/range top, microwave, frost-free refrigerator and freezer, and garbage disposal. Some apartments and villas have patios or screened-in porches. All villas have a one- or two-car garage.
Your pet is welcome if approved by the staff. Typically, small dogs, cats, pet fish, etc., are allowed.
Many expenses you now pay in your own home, such as property taxes, insurance and maintenance are included in your monthly service fee. Other services include a flexible meal plan, utilities (except telephone and premium cable), regular housekeeping, complimentary local transportation, lifestyle programs and activities, wellness center, security services, and grounds maintenance, all in addition to assisted living, memory care and skilled nursing care, if it is ever needed. In addition, membership to the Duke Center for Living Health & Fitness Center also is included.
No. Galloway Ridge is a Life Care retirement community and therefore, you do not need long-term care insurance. The Life Care program at Galloway Ridge helps you manage the high cost of long-term care without the need for costly insurance plans. The Life Care program covers the cost of long-term assisted living, Alzheimer’s, Dementia or memory care and skilled nursing care that would otherwise be covered by long-term care insurance or by private pay. Should you already have long-term care insurance, it is suggested that you, in conjunction with your insurance provider, decide if keeping it as a supplemental plan or cancelling it makes the most sense for you and your unique situation.
To become a resident of Galloway Ridge, you pay a one-time entrance fee based upon the size and location of your chosen residence, as well as your choice of entrance fee refundability. The entrance fee funds the cost of the community and The Arbor Health Care Center and entitles you to reside in the apartment or villa of your choice for as long as you are an independent resident of Galloway Ridge community.
Galloway Ridge is not a real estate transaction. Residency is established by the payment of an entrance fee and services and amenities are paid for with a monthly service fee.

Life Care is the most extensive and comprehensive type of contract provided in a CCRC. The services are provided for as long as needed at a minimum additional meal cost to what you would pay to live at Galloway Ridge.
A continuing care retirement community provides a continuum of lifestyle options—residences, services, amenities and short- or long-term care all on one campus. This full-service environment is centered on active, independent living, yet provides access to built-in support programs including short- or long-term care, if ever needed. The wide variety of educational, social, recreational and cultural activities, combined with services in a neighborhood setting, has resulted in residents of Life Plan communities living, on average, longer, healthier and less stressful lives than their peers.
