Dynamic Programming

At Galloway Ridge, our wellness culture is brought to life by a dynamic curriculum of events and programs custom designed to help residents live their best lives. Whether you love to hike, participate in group exercise, dance, or browse art galleries, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. The Duke Center for Living, our on-site medically-based fitness facility, adds an additional schedule of opportunities to be active and maintain health.

Total Brain Health Program™


Not only do we ensure our residents have plenty of opportunities to stay physically active — our programming is available to keep brains healthy too! Dr. Cynthia Green’s Total Brain Health Program™, an evidence-based program to improve cognitive function, is offered on a regular basis, and balance and coordination classes are offered several times per week. Finally, series such as ‘Tai Chi for Arthritis’ and ‘Art Without Expectations’ are offered for relaxation and spiritual wellbeing.

In addition to group programs, residents may enroll in our unique wellness coaching service. This service, offered at no additional cost, gives Galloway Ridge residents the opportunity to work with a professional wellness coordinator to create a wellness plan based on individual goals and interests. The wellness coordinator assists with setting SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic & Time-Bound) goals and provides advice and support in helping you to achieve them. While physical wellness is just one piece of the wellness puzzle, every resident has the option to have a senior functional fitness screening performed. After this appointment, you can meet with the wellness coordinator every six months to troubleshoot any barriers hindering your individual wellness, update your goals and track your progress.

With the Duke Center for Living on the Galloway Ridge campus, our residents have access to our state-of-the-art fitness center, seven days a week. Our facility includes an elevated indoor fitness track, an attractive heated indoor saline pool, and a full range of strength-training and cardiovascular equipment. The facility also offers an extensive schedule of exercise classes for every level of ability and interest. The friendly, trained staff at the fitness center is where we really shine, motivating and encouraging you to stay strong so you can stay active.
