Galloway Ridge Charitable Fund Awards Grants in Chatham County

PITTSBORO, NC – For the fourth consecutive year, the Charitable Fund of Galloway Ridge, Inc., a non-profit 501(c) 3 retirement community located near Fearrington Village, has awarded Grants for Chatham County Community non-profit organizations.

The Distribution of Funds Committee of the Galloway Ridge Charitable Fund had specific guidelines for consideration of awards; specifically it must be a Chatham County Non-Profit and must have a positive effect on Chatham County, or the lives of the citizens of Chatham County.  Also, it must reduce the burden of government funding in Chatham County while meeting the goals of supporting literacy and education in Chatham County.

This year the Fund awarded 14 Grants out of 35 applications received, totaling $55,000, and included the organizations listed below:

• Bynum Front Porch
• Chatham County Literacy Council
• Chatham Habitat for Humanity
• Chatham County Schools
• Chatham Soccer League
• Interfaith Ministries of Chatham County
• Horton Middle School
• Moncure Schools
• Northwood High School
• Pittsboro Elementary School PTA
• St. Julia’s Catholic Church
• The Boys and Girls Club of Eastern Piedmont
• The Osman Foundation
• Virginia Cross Elementary School
