A SEAMLESS TRANSITION
TO YOUR NEW HOME

To help you make a smooth transition, we’ve outlined the steps and provided important information to guide you through the residency process. Our goal is to make this journey as seamless and stress-free as possible, so you can focus on what truly matters—embracing your new lifestyle.

While each resident’s story is unique, the Process to Residency at Galloway Ridge follows the same key steps. Take a look at Ann and Fran’s journey: Ann and Fran share,

“OUR MOVE TO GALLOWAY RIDGE WAS EASY AND, ALMOST, FUN!”

STEP 1

Waitlist agreement

After their initial tour, Ann and Fran began their process by joining the Waitlist. They stayed on this list for six years before deciding they were ready to make the move to Galloway Ridge.

“Once an apartment or villa is made available, things move quickly, so be prepared!” Ann and Fran advise.

STEP 2

Residence Preference Agreement

When the time felt right, they transitioned to the Residence Preference Agreement.

STEP 3

Residence Offer and Deposit

After one year on the Residence Preference Agreement, they were offered a residence. Ann and Fran loved it and reserved it by depositing 10% of the entrance fee.

STEP 4

Application Process

Next, they began completing their application, which included both financial and medical reviews.

STEP 5

Approval for Residency

After careful evaluation, their application was approved by the Executive Director, and they were officially accepted for residency.

They recommend…

“Future residents should take measurements of all the rooms to make wise decisions about what from your home will fit. Think in broad terms: your percent reduction in furnishings should match the reduction in square footage from your home to your apartment. Downsizing kitchenware to fit smaller cabinets also takes careful planning. A common mistake is bringing too much. Maybe we downsized too much because we ended up with extra closet space!”

Fortunately, the Relocation and Refurbishment team will help provide measurements and resources to help you downsize effectively.

STEP 6

Renovation Planning

Ann and Fran worked with the Relocation and Refurbishment team to customize their new home, selecting paint colors and carpet. Renovations began shortly after.

STEP 7

Settlement Appointment

Ninety days after depositing their 10%, Ann and Fran attended their Settlement appointment. Here, they met with Galloway Ridge staff to:

– Pay the remaining entrance fee

– Receive their name tags and keys

– Learn about the resident services available

“We found that new residents are given lots of attention,” they explain. “Our name tags had green ribbons to identify us as new. Other residents introduced themselves and invited us to dine with them. We also received a list of staff leaders who visited to introduce themselves and explain their roles. This was so helpful when we had questions later on.” We’re excited to meet you and guide you through your process to residency!

STEP 8

Moving In

Once renovations were complete, Ann and Fran moved in and began their new journey as Galloway Ridge residents.
