COMMUNITY EVENTS

We celebrate a wide range of events and gatherings that welcome residents, staff, and community guests.

A Commitment to Community

We love our location in the heart of beautiful, bustling Chatham County. Here at Galloway Ridge, we’re committed to being an active part of the surrounding community. In addition to community volunteer work, we make it a point to offer on-campus events that are accessible to non-residents, and many of our residents participate in events outside Galloway Ridge as well.

“One of the marvelous things about community is that it enables us to welcome and help people in a way we couldn’t as individuals.”

– Jean Vanier

There’s a wide selection of events to participate in when you’re a resident of Galloway Ridge. Many are in-house events that our residents can schedule through the online portal and are only offered to residents. Other events are invitation only or free and open to the public. Galloway Ridge also hosts an artists’ reception three times a year. This event is open to the public and invites artists from Chatham, Orange, Lee, and Moore counties the opportunity to market and display their artwork to the residents and members of the community.

Artists can participate via a “Call to Artists”. The artwork is juried and the work selected is displayed in the Weathersfield Café, Belties Lounge and the Duke Center for Living here at Galloway Ridge. 100% of the proceeds go directly to the artist. This collaboration is part of Galloway Ridge’s social accountability efforts and community connections.

BUILDING COMMUNITY IN EVERY WAY

Living a rich life can mean more than just flooding your calendar with entertainment and activity. The Galloway Ridge lifestyle is so much more than that. Our residents adore the chance to mingle with members of the wider community and set out to assist those in need. With such kind-hearted residents, it’s easy to focus on the betterment of the community beyond the Galloway Ridge campus. Some of the ways in which our community serves is through food and clothing drives, giving to charitable funds, ringing bells for the Salvation Army during the holidays, spending time at the local Boys & Girls’ Club, putting on a 5K race for the Alzheimer’s Association, and so much more.
