Duke Health Expands at Galloway Ridge at Fearrington

Galloway Ridge at Fearrington is undergoing its Phase II Expansion aggressively over the summer months focusing on a completion date of spring 2012. The expansion consists of expanding the Duke Center for Living Health and Fitness Center, adding a new Outpatient Rehabilitation Center as well as the Duke Primary Care Clinic, which will be expanding to a new stand-alone clinic.  In January of this year, the Duke Center for Living Health and Fitness Center at Fearrington (DCFL), with Galloway Ridge, embarked on an expansion project to better serve its members.  The renovations of will be complete in October 2011 and will consist of expansion of the locker rooms, adding an additional massage room, expanded parking and a covered walkway. DCFL is the only medically-based fitness center in Chatham County.  Since opening its doors in August 2005, DCFL has been helping members make positive, healthy and lasting lifestyle changes.  DCFL is open to anyone 18 years or older and currently serves over 1700 members from Galloway Ridge, Fearrington Village and from throughout Chatham and Orange counties.  The 20,000 square foot facility offers state-of-the-art exercise equipment, indoor heated pool and spa, cushioned indoor track, a professional and caring staff and outstanding array of fitness and wellness programs such as massage therapy and personal training. Galloway Ridge‘s new Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, slated to open early 2012, will offer a wide variety of expert outpatient physical, occupational and speech therapy to surrounding communities in a new multimillion-dollar state of the art facility.  The facility will consist of 1,500 square feet with a reception area, open gym area for rehabilitation treatment, and two private treatment rooms.  A hallmark of our therapy services is our team approach to rehabilitation therapy which is based on the unique relationship built between the client, his/her physician and our team of therapists. We offer an expert staff of rehabilitation professionals ready to treat clients using the latest in rehabilitative techniques, equipment and technology. Galloway Ridge Outpatient Rehabilitation Center offers physical and aquatic therapy services within the DCFL fitness facility.  Hours of operation are Monday – Friday, except holidays, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. and the office number is 919.545.2654.  The Duke Primary Care Clinic at Galloway Ridge is a comprehensive internal medicine clinic for patients age 18 and older, with a specialized focus in geriatrics.  Although currently located within the main complex of the Galloway Ridge retirement community, the clinic is open to the general public and offers a wide array of physician services from the treatment of acute and chronic illnesses to preventive medicine.  The new multimillion dollar 1,500 foot clinic expansion will consist of a five patient exam rooms, a comfortable reception area and dedicated clinic parking.  Duke Primary Care strives to provide high quality and safe patient care and supports Duke University Health System’s mission of education, research and patient care through the development and integration of a full-service primary care network.  Physician services at the Duke Primary Care Clinic at Galloway Ridge will be provided by caring and competent physicians and nurse practitioners specializing in internal and geriatric medicine.
