Dr. Lindsay Wilson Named Medical Director of Galloway Ridge
After thirteen years as the Medical Director for Galloway Ridge, Dr. Jan Busby- Whitehead has stepped down from her role at Galloway Ridge. Dr. Busby-Whitehead worked tirelessly over those many years to help fashion the excellent healthcare that is provided throughout the Galloway Ridge Community.
It is with great pleasure and excitement that I announce to you that Dr. Lindsay Wilson has been named to the role of Medical Director of Galloway Ridge effective July 1, 2025. Many of you already know Dr. Wilson as she too has been serving and seeing residents at Galloway Ridge for thirteen years.
Dr. Wilson provided the following statement and brief excerpt from her impressive curriculum vitae.
Lindsay Wilson, MD MPH MEd, is a professor in the Division of Geriatric Medicine, Department of Medicine, UNC School of Medicine. She sees patients at Galloway Ridge and the Cedars of Chapel Hill. She has several academic and leadership roles at UNC School of Medicine. For examples, she co-leads the medical school fourth year curriculum and their Care of the Older Patient elective curriculum. Dr. Wilson has a
Masters in Public Health from the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health and a Masters in Medical Education from the University of Cincinnati. A fellow in both the American College of Physicians (ACP) and the American Geriatrics Society (AGS), in 2024 she was selected to serve on the AGS national Education Committee. She has won numerous teaching awards, including the Leonard Tow Humanism Award given by the UNC School of Medicine graduating class in 2022 to recognize her for her “compassion, empathy, respect, cultural sensitivity, communication skills, and professional ethical standards in the delivery of care.”
