CHATHAM COUNTY CHARITABLE FUND APPLICATION

Background

Galloway Ridge Inc., is a tax-exempt, not-for-profit corporation. The Galloway Ridge Community engages in activities and charitable projects that benefit Chatham County residents by identifying and helping alleviate the unmet needs of special populations. Our mission addresses the needs of children and youth, the elderly, the underprivileged, and minorities.

Funding

Grants are awarded annually, in mid-November, with funds distributed in January the following year. Grant funds may be requested for any administrative or program expenses and grants may be used to maintain existing successful programs that have demonstrated effectiveness. Typical awards range from $500 to $10,000. A total of $122,000 in grant funds is available for distribution this year.

Eligibility

Grants will be awarded to 501(c) (3) organizations that serve Chatham County, Chatham County Public Schools and other Chatham County governmental units. Agencies are limited to one request each year in the grants process. Agencies that have received funding from Galloway Ridge in the past are eligible to apply provided the End of Grant Report has been received from the previous year. Grants will not be awarded to agencies that plan to pass money to another agency.

Application Procedures and Guidelines

Please adhere to the length limitation criteria and use this online form ONLY. Applications must be submitted by 4:00 pm on Thursday, October 9, 2025. (This year’s application is online only). The Galloway Ridge Chatham County Charitable Fund Grant Committee will serve as the selection committee. Attachments Required

Upon completion of the online application, you are required to upload the following documents:

  1. Verification of tax-exempt status under Section 501(c) (3) of the IRS code. (One-page tax exemption letter only)
  2. List of current Board members
  3.  A recent audited financial statement
  4. A one-page listing of funding sources and amounts received from these sources over the past two years
  5. A one-page summary of actual income and expenses for the past two complete years
