Galloway Ridge is led by a team of more than 350 caring and energetic professional staff members who provide support, services and activities for Galloway Ridge residents and members of the Duke Center for Living Health and Wellness Center.

Bob Zimmer

Executive Director / Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Zimmer joined the leadership team of Galloway Ridge in 2011 as Director of Finance.  In 2012 he was promoted to Associate Executive Director and became Executive Director in December 2014.  He has over twenty-five years of experience in non-profit management.

He is a highly professional team leader capable of effectively communicating with diverse constituencies and he is able to effectively analyze situations, plan strategically, make decisions and successfully manage all details through completion.

Mr. Zimmer earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Dallas, and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas as well.

Adam Melton

Associate Executive Director and Director of Healthcare Services

Mr. Melton comes to Galloway Ridge with a vast experience in healthcare administration and work in CCRC’s. Adam has over a decade of experience as a Nursing Home Administrator both in the profit and non profit sectors of the long term care industry. He most recently served in management roles at Carolina Meadows in Chapel Hill, NC and Scotia Village in Laurinburg, NC. He is a strong advocate for person centered care and is excited to build on the strong foundation of healthcare provided at Galloway Ridge.

Adam is responsible for managing all aspects of Health Services for Galloway Ridge and ensuring regulatory compliance with State and Federal laws. He was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies in 2003.

Dana Boylan-Walker

Director of Finance

Dana Boylan-Walker joined the leadership team of Galloway Ridge in March 2015.  She is a results-driven executive that brings 20 years of non-profit financial management experience to the company.  Before Galloway Ridge, Dana served as Chief Operating Officer for the Guilford County Partnership for Children, a NC Smart Start initiative, serving children birth to age five.  Throughout the years she has developed a deep commitment to improving the lives of others and is dedicated to serving our communities.

Dana obtained her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from NC A&T State University and also holds a Master of Business Administration from Pfeiffer University. She is responsible for managing the financial risk, financial planning, financial reporting and the analysis of financial data for Galloway Ridge.

Dana is truly excited to be a part of the Galloway Ridge leadership team. She has a high interest in serving the needs of a growing community of active-minded retired citizens.

Missy Johnson Sr Sales Executive

Missy Johnson

Director of Marketing and Sales

Missy Johnson joined the marketing and sales team at Galloway Ridge in 2013 and was promoted to Director in 2016. She brings over 25 years’ experience in gerontology and marketing to her current leadership position. Before moving to North Carolina, Missy honed her skills as editor for All About Seniors, a community senior resource magazine serving the upstate of South Carolina. As a founding partner for All About Seniors, she developed her entrepreneurial spirit and her desire to serve the aging population. She also established fundraising and community recognition events, including the Upstate Caregiver Awards.

In addition to a life-long passion for working with the aging community, Missy also has a strong commitment to advocacy for quality of life issues. She has served on the board of directors for Alzheimer’s Association-South Carolina Chapter and Meals on Wheels-Greenville. She also shared her expertise through volunteering as a member of the Bon Secours St. Francis LifeWise advisory committee, Senior Action marketing committee, Arthritis Foundation Gala committee, and the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s committee. Missy has been recognized as one of the Best and Brightest by Greenville Business Magazine and a Dream Achiever by the YWCA.

While earning her Masters of Developmental Psychology and a Certificate of Gerontology from University of Georgia, Missy focused on research and development for successful aging and cognitive aging. She has worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including behavioral health, assisted living, and Life Plan communities. Her passion is evident in her ongoing relationships with Galloway Ridge residents, who always find her door open to them.

Debbie Knight

Director of Wellness

Ms. Knight, a native North Carolinian, has over 30 years in the health and wellness industry. She has served in various management roles for a number of health and fitness organizations, including Athletic Clubs, Inc. of Research Triangle Park, N. Carolina and the YMCA of Columbia, S. Carolina.  For the last 13 years, she held several director-level positions with Blue Ridge HealthCare in Morganton, N. Carolina.  Her most recent role was that of Director of the Wellness Service Line, where she received the Board of Directors’ Recognition for Service Excellence.

During her time at BRHC, Debbie played an integral part in a number of health and wellness initiatives, benefiting the community and workplace.  Many of these efforts earned awards and recognition by the industry, including Center of Excellence by NC Prevention Partners/NCHA/Duke Endowment for Tobacco Cessation Program; Wellness Council of America (WELCOA) Bronze, Silver, and 2 Gold Well Workplace Awards; NC Prevention Partners’ Red Apple Status for Healthy Eating Presentation in BRHC Café; and NC Prevention Partners’ Gold Star Award for Tobacco Cessation creating a Corporate Culture of Wellness.

Debbie earned her Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education from East Carolina University in Greenville, and her Masters in Strategic Leadership from Mountain State University in Beckley, West Virginia.

Pat Richardson

Director of Communications & Community Relations

Ms. Richardson joined Galloway Ridge at Fearrington with over twelve years in sales and marketing in the Hospitality Industry and over seven years supporting the nonprofit sector in the Triangle. She relocated to North Carolina from Washington, D.C. in 2005 where she worked extensively with the Federal Government and Association markets. Pat has many years of experience in the nonprofit sector as a Development Director, tasked with fund raising, creating public relations, board management, membership and volunteer management. She served in the military for many years, joining the Army when she was seventeen and stationed in South Carolina.

Pat’s passions are education and her two wonderful children, John and Krissy. Her hobbies consist of volunteering, traveling, spending time with family and reading. Pat also sits on the Human Services Advisory Board for the Town of Chapel Hill, Board of Directors for the Chatham Chamber of Commerce and the Association of Fundraising Professionals National Philanthropy Day Team.

Kathy Turner

Director of Human Resources

Ms. Turner joined the Galloway Ridge leadership team in 2011. She comes with over 18 years of diversified experience in Human Resources, serving in various leadership roles. Kathy started her Human Resources career at Analog Devices Inc. in Greensboro, NC. She was promoted in 1998 to Vice President of Human Resources for Steelcase/Brayton International Inc. in High Point, NC where she served for 11 years.

Kathy is a dynamic strategic leader who partners with employees to create an employee-centric culture. She encourages a free-flow of communication, ideas and innovative thinking throughout the organizational structure. She has a passion for nurturing talent by giving each employee an opportunity to grow, learn, develop skills and pursue goals.

Kathy’s professional career also includes experience in all facets of Human Resources including Employee Relations, Performance Management, Strategic Workforce Planning, Succession Management, Employment Law and Compliance, Health, Safety, Benefits and Compensation.

Kathy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Economics from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. She holds the designation of Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) from the Human Resources Certification Institute.

Tom Weaver

Director of Food and Beverage

Tom Weaver has over 36 years’ experience in the Food and Beverage industry in various management and leadership roles, including the last 23 years working for a CCRC. He is a Certified Dietary Manager with Healthcare Foodservice Management, and is a member of the Association of Nutrition and FoodServices.
For the last 14 years, Tom was Director of Dining Services at Westminster at Lake Ridge, a CCRC inVirginia. His passion is to dedicate his career to promoting the highest culinary dining experience by bringing the best quality ingredients for seasonal menus including gourmet and comfort foods, while upholding strong customer service values and enhancing the resident’s quality of life.

Debbie Williams

Director of Resident Life

Ms. Williams joined Galloway Ridge in June 2007 and has worked with the senior population in the private sector, hospitals, independent living and health care for over fifteen years. She is responsible for managing the Activity Department which provides an abundance of quality programming, including transportation needs, both on and off campus.

Debbie earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Therapeutic Recreation from Central Michigan University and completed post-graduate studies at Wayne State University. She is certified as a Therapeutic Recreational Therapist.
