Galloway Ridge is led by a team of more than 350 caring and energetic professional staff members who provide support, services and activities for Galloway Ridge residents and members of the Duke Center for Living Health and Wellness Center.

Bob Zimmer

Executive Director / Chief Executive Officer

Bob joined the leadership team of Galloway Ridge in 2011 as Director of Finance. In 2012 he was promoted to Associate Executive Director and became Executive Director in December 2014.  He has over twenty-five years of experience in non-profit management.

He is a highly professional team leader capable of effectively communicating with diverse constituencies and he is able to effectively analyze situations, plan strategically, make decisions and successfully manage all details through completion.

Bob earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at the University of Dallas, and holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Dallas as well.

Adam Melton

 Associate Executive Director and Senior Director of Healthcare Services

Adam comes to Galloway Ridge with a vast experience in healthcare administration and work in Life Plan Community’s. Adam has over a decade of experience as a Nursing Home Administrator both in the profit and non profit sectors of the long term care industry. He most recently served in management roles at Carolina Meadows in Chapel Hill, NC and Scotia Village in Laurinburg, NC.

He is a strong advocate for person centered care and is excited to build on the strong foundation of healthcare provided at Galloway Ridge.

Adam is responsible for managing all aspects of Health Services for Galloway Ridge and ensuring regulatory compliance with State and Federal laws. He was awarded a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies in 2003.

 Heather Banta

Senior Director of Facility Operations

Heather joined the Galloway Ridge leadership team in February 2017. She is a goal-oriented public health professional with more than 15 years of experience working in complex multi-structure environments. Heather has experience overseeing regulatory compliance during routine operational activities, as well as throughout construction and renovation projects. She has been responsible for management of programs related to life safety, fire safety, biosafety, environmental compliance, industrial hygiene, accident/injury prevention, and occupational health.

Before joining Galloway Ridge, Heather was the Assistant Safety Programs Director for the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services, responsible for managing a comprehensive safety and occupational health program for more than 18,000 state employees. She also worked in a state-operated hospital as the Environment of Care Coordinator, where she was responsible for ensuring a quality and safe environment for patients through oversight of maintenance, safety, security, and housekeeping activities. Heather is passionate about population health, patient-centered care, and ensuring a safe and healthy environment through effective operational procedures.

Heather obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from James Madison University and a Master’s degree in Public Health, with a concentration in Environmental and Occupational Health, from Emory University. She is certified through the Board of Certified Safety Professionals as an Associate Safety Professional and is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers.

 Dana Boylan-Walker

Senior Director of Finance

Dana joined the leadership team of Galloway Ridge in March 2015.  She is a results-driven executive that brings 20 years of non-profit financial management experience to the company.  Before Galloway Ridge, Dana served as Chief Operating Officer for the Guilford County Partnership for Children, a NC Smart Start initiative, serving children birth to age five.  Throughout the years she has developed a deep commitment to improving the lives of others and is dedicated to serving our communities.

Dana obtained her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from NC A&T State University and also holds a Master of Business Administration from Pfeiffer University. She is responsible for managing the financial risk, financial planning, financial reporting and the analysis of financial data for Galloway Ridge.

Dana is truly excited to be a part of the Galloway Ridge leadership team. She has a high interest in serving the needs of a growing community of active-minded retired citizens.

Missy Johnson

Senior Director of Marketing and Sales

Missy joined the marketing and sales team at Galloway Ridge in 2013 and was promoted to Director in 2016. She brings over 25 years’ experience in gerontology and marketing to her current leadership position.  Before moving to North Carolina, Missy honed her skills as editor for All About Seniors, a community senior resource magazine serving the upstate of South Carolina. As a founding partner for All About Seniors, she developed her entrepreneurial spirit and her desire to serve the aging population. She also established fundraising and community recognition events, including the Upstate Caregiver Awards.

In addition to a life-long passion for working with the aging community, Missy also has a strong commitment to advocacy for quality of life issues. She has served on the board of directors for Alzheimer’s Association-South Carolina Chapter and Meals on Wheels-Greenville. She also shared her expertise through volunteering as a member of the Bon Secours St. Francis LifeWise advisory committee, Senior Action marketing committee, Arthritis Foundation Gala committee, and the Alzheimer’s Association Walk to End Alzheimer’s committee. Missy has been recognized as one of the Best and Brightest by Greenville Business Magazine and a Dream Achiever by the YWCA.

While earning her Masters of Developmental Psychology and a Certificate of Gerontology from University of Georgia, Missy focused on research and development for successful aging and cognitive aging. She has worked in a variety of healthcare settings, including behavioral health, assisted living, and Life Plan communities. Her passion is evident in her ongoing relationships with Galloway Ridge residents, who always find her door open to them.

Brad Moore

Senior Director of Technology Innovation

Brad Moore joined the leadership team of Galloway Ridge in 2017. He brings over a decade of experience in science and technology to his role as Senior Director of Technology Innovation. He has worked as a software architect and most recently as a researcher in the life sciences.

During his career, Brad has designed and developed technological solutions for industry and research academia. He is passionate about using technology to empower and enrich people’s lives, rather than simply complicate them. He is excited to work with the residents and staff of Galloway Ridge in finding new and robust ways to solve the challenges in aging services.

Brad has a Master of Science in Computer Science from the Ohio State University and a Ph.D. in Computational Biology and Bioinformatics from Duke University.

Scott Richardson

Senior Director of Resident and Community Engagement

Scott joined the Galloway Ridge leadership team in September 2017. With over 18 years of experience in the senior industry, Scott brings a diversified skillset that allows him to support many roles here at Galloway. Before joining the team, Scott spent eleven years at Williamsburg Landing, a Life Plan community in Williamsburg, VA as Senior Director of Resident Services and seven years at Virginia Mennonite Retirement Community in Harrisonburg, VA as Wellness Center Manager.

Scott is a strong leader and motivator who is recognized for his ability to exceed operational goals and his expertise in project management. Scott is an alumni of LEAD Historic Triangle, a Greater Williamsburg Chamber leadership program and the LeadingAge Leadership Academy.

Scott has a degree in Sports Management and holds certifications as a Certified Aging Services Professional (CASP), from North Texas University and LeadingAge and as a Certified Dementia Practitioner (CDP), from the National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners.

Kathy Turner

Senior Director of Human Resources

Kathy joined the Galloway Ridge leadership team in 2011. She comes with over 18 years of diversified experience in Human Resources, serving in various leadership roles. Kathy started her Human Resources career at Analog Devices Inc. in Greensboro, NC. She was promoted in 1998 to Vice President of Human Resources for Steel case/Brayton International Inc. in High Point, NC where she served for 11 years.

Kathy is a dynamic strategic leader who partners with employees to create an employee-centric culture. She encourages a free-flow of communication, ideas and innovative thinking throughout the organizational structure. She has a passion for nurturing talent by giving each employee an opportunity to grow, learn, develop skills and pursue goals.

Kathy’s professional career also includes experience in all facets of Human Resources including Employee Relations, Performance Management, Strategic Workforce Planning, Succession Management, Employment Law and Compliance, Health, Safety, Benefits and Compensation.

Kathy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Economics from the University of North Carolina in Greensboro. She holds the designation of Senior Professional Human Resources (SPHR) from the Human Resources Certification Institute.

Tom Weaver

Senior Director of Hospitality Services

Tom has over 36 years’ experience in the Food and Beverage industry in various management and leadership roles, including the last 23 years working for a Life Plan Community. He is a Certified Dietary Manager with Healthcare Food service Management, and is a member of the Association of Nutrition and Food Services.

For the last 14 years, Tom was Director of Dining Services at Westminster at Lake Ridge, a Life Plan Community in Virginia. His passion is to dedicate his career to promoting the highest culinary dining experience by bringing the best quality ingredients for seasonal menus including gourmet and comfort foods, while upholding strong customer service values and enhancing the resident’s quality of life.
