Responsibilities:

  • Wash and clean tableware, pots, and cooking equipment. Keep the dish room and equipment clean and organized.
  • Load, run and unload dish machine. Wash pots, pans, and trays.
  • Keep the dish machine clean and report any functional and mechanical problems immediately.
  • Monitor dish machine water temperature to ensure sanitary wash cycle.
  • Wash and store all tableware and kitchenware. Maintain adequate levels for dining room and kitchen.
  • Handle tableware carefully to prevent breakage or loss.
  • Keep dish room clean and organized.
  • Sweep and mop kitchen floors. Wash work tables, walls, and refrigerators.
  • Segregate and remove trash and garbage and place it in designated containers.

  • Functions as a supportive team member during the course of their shift.

Full-time position for an operations and management professional with experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or facilities management in a setting with extensive grounds. Preference will be given to those with experience in a senior living community or healthcare facility, golf club, country club, or resort. The Director of Buildings & Grounds supports the Senior Director of Facility Operations in the day to day operations of the department including maintenance, safety/security, information technology, and environmental services divisions, with responsibility specifically for building and grounds maintenance. The Director also oversees outside vendor contracts and manages vendor productivity.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Supporting and overseeing the production and activities primarily of the maintenance division, also assisting with oversight of the environmental services, information technology, and security departments.
  • Assuring compliance with policies, procedures, budget parameters and quality standards for facility operations.
  • Maintaining entire campus in compliance with federal, state and local laws regarding facility related operations, including compliance with DHSR regulations.
  • Maintaining campus in good repair and keeping free of hazards.
  • Providing recommendations on purchases of new equipment and improvements to the campus.
  • Participating in yearly budget planning for four departments and accountability for adhering to established budgets.
  • Contributes to the creation and oversight of operations and capital budgets for the above department divisions. Involved in supporting efficient use of utilities and energy on the campus.
  • Overseeing appropriate service contracts, ordering of supplies and services from appropriate vendors; requesting bids and proposals; maintaining required records and reports; considering work order requests and establishing work priority within the department.
  • Assist in the hiring, training, orientation, scheduling, evaluation, discipline and recommendation of termination of department personnel.
  • Managing direct report positions, as assigned.
  • Manages assigned contracted and vendor services for proper compliance and expected service levels.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, operations management, plant science, soil science, agronomy, or related fields preferred
  • Five years of experience in facility operations supervisory role, preferably with a background in grounds maintenance or landscaping
  • Must possess general knowledge of supervisory skills, and operation and maintenance of facility management services
  • Extensive background check, including criminal & drug screening
  • Proven professionalism within a diverse work environment required
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Overall supervision of the Environmental Services Department; including housekeeping and laundry. Demonstrable experience working within a diverse workforce to build unity and teamwork.
  • Responsible for assuring compliance with policies, procedures, budget parameters and quality standards for the Environmental Services Department.
  • Responsible for maintaining clean and odor free buildings in accordance with federal, state and local regulations.
  • Responsible for planning and participating in in-service programs and other training programs for the department as required by regulation or the need of the community.
  • Develops and maintains a sound Infection Control Program and assures that all relevant reports and records are maintained in accordance with all applicable regulations or community policy.
  • Performs routine inspections of all areas of the community, including residences, offices, dining rooms, etc.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • A minimum of three-year’s experience is desired. Specific on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Should have demonstrated ability to operate all types of cleaning equipment and read common measuring instruments.
  • Must be able to follow written or oral instructions.
  • Must be in good mental and physical condition, able and willing to perform duties inside and outside the facility when necessary.

The Community Navigator provides psychosocial support to new residents adjusting to Galloway Ridge, managing changes in health status and is a resident advocate and liaison between the resident, their families and community agencies.
