The Resident Technical Support Associate will support technology usage by Galloway Ridge’s elderly residents. The position requires excellent customer service- the Associate must be friendly, patient, and professional. This entry-level IT position requires the ability to quickly learn different consumer technologies.
This position requires teaching, troubleshooting, and setting up a variety of consumer technologies, including: smart TVs, streaming devices (Roku, Amazon Fire TV, etc.), Amazon Echo, smartphones, tablets, printers, smart speakers, PC and Apple computers. This position will also assist residents in their Spectrum cable TV service, including assisting residents with contacting Spectrum for additional technical support, service changes, or billing questions. The Associate will routinely connect resident devices to our campus WiFi network.
This position involves a significant amount of calling residents, scheduling IT appointments, and maintaining good time management and customer service. The Associate will also hold weekly “drop-in” sessions, where residents can bring their devices for support or ask general technology questions.
High school diploma, some college a plus.
1+ year of technical support, customer service or related experience
Intuition and confidence using smartphones, computers, and smart TVs.
Basic understanding of consumer-grade networking
Basic understanding of cable TV
Great time management skills
Excellent customer service: friendly, patient, and professional
Ability to learn quickly and solve problems effectively
