A Legacy of Volunteering

A History of Community Support

The residents of Galloway Ridge have a long history of volunteerism and community support. This dedication to service has given our residents a close involvement with our community, and the community at large with many opportunities to participate and make a difference.

In 2015, Galloway Ridge residents donated 23,897 hours to 86 local agencies including UNC Hospitals, the Ackland Art Museum, Chatham Council on Aging, Chatham Literacy Council, CORA Food Pantry, the Goathouse Cat Refuge, the NC Botanical Gardens, Habitat for Humanity and numerous local schools and religious institutions. Our residents also volunteered to work on 56 Galloway Ridge Resident Committees including the Special Events Committee, Galloway Chorus, Health, Safety and Wellness Committee, Technology and Communication, the Library and the Welcoming Committee.

As Winston Churchill once said “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give”. Our residents are a testament to this!
